Living and Being the Change: Building a Sustainable Community
La Ferme du Bout du Monde was founded in 2020 as part of a collective effort to reinvent our relationship with the land and time. Based in a unique eco-community, we bring together a community of residents and nomads, an agroecology training centre and a retreat centre for personal and collective renewal, all focused on experimentation and shared reflection.
Our commitment goes beyond theory: we cultivate food and energy self-sufficiency, develop agricultural, artisanal and artistic activities, and turn every daily task into a living workshop.
Our strength lies in this integrated approach to sustainability – here, we don’t just teach about ecological change, we bring it to life every day.
Within a group of residents, the encounter between ancestral knowledge and low-tech innovations creates fertile ground where learning happens through doing. Every harvest, every encounter with animals, every observation of ecology becomes an opportunity to test solutions, share our discoveries and build bridges between generations. Through this immersive adventure, we are building a model of resilience that can inspire and support other communities, here and elsewhere.
Immersive Learning Experiences
Dive headfirst into the farm’s rhythms through tailored volunteering opportunities. Pitch in on farm cycles, community events, and low-tech projects. Join us informally or via the European Solidarity Corps. Internships offer hands-on agroecology and permaculture practice with mentorship. You can develop skills in food-energy sovereignty, collective governance, and sustainable craft. Our residency program for artists opens the ecocenter as a creative space: work alongside growers and makers, weaving your practice into the living landscape.
Community Building
We thrive on open gatherings, shared meals, and collaborative projects that bridge residents, neighbours, and visiting volunteers. From weekly skill-shares and co-design workshops to seasonal festivals: every event strengthens connections and cultivates trust. We nurture a resilient network grounded in mutual aid and collective creativity.
Permaculture Training
We offer transformational permaculture and sustainability training through inclusive, hands-on programmes that combine practical skills like ecological design, food systems, and collaborative governance with deep personal development.
Our decade of experience in teaching teenagers and adults empowers individuals and organisations to lead regenerative change, build community resilience, and navigate the critical path humanity faces with humility and effective action.
